Keep your lawn free of damage and ticks with Baltimore deer repellent services.

Since 1957, Scientific Plant Service has offered excellent lawn care services to our Baltimore community. We provide full deer repellant services in addition to lawn care, athletic field maintenance, tree and shrub care, soil testing, aquatics, and pest management. Deer may wreak havoc on your lawn, tear bark from your trees, and devour plants in your garden, destroying the lovely scenery you’ve worked so hard to create. Deer ticks, which carry Lyme disease, are also carried by deer. To avoid the unpleasant and sometimes hazardous effects of deer on your lawn, contact the licensed professionals at Scientific Plant Service for our Baltimore deer repellant services.

The Threat Deer Pose to Plants, Trees, and Shrubs

Deer may appear pretty and non-threatening in the wild, but when they decide your property is a great food source, they may gravely destroy your landscaping. Deer can consume approximately 500 different plant species, and once they discover your garden bed, they will return until all of the food has been consumed.

Deer feeding on your trees invites tree diseases because their nibbling takes off the bark, exposing it to fungal infections. This weakens the tree and makes it more vulnerable to disease and insects.

Year-Round Deer Repellent Services in Baltimore

If you live near open fields or reservoirs, your lawn is especially vulnerable to white-tail deer visits. Because their food supplies are restricted during the winter, they typically seek out and consume landscapes most at that time. Bucks may also rub their antlers on young trees to remove the “velvet” off growing antlers, which can cause bark damage.

Sign up for our Baltimore deer repellant services to manage landscape losses. This program consists of monthly applications of our organic-based products that target deer’s favorite food sources. To avoid deer resistance, we rotate the products we use throughout the year.

Our Baltimore Deer Repellent Services

We propose spraying applications for 12 months of the year for the greatest effects and continual prevention of deer appearances on your property. Bi-weekly treatments may be required to safeguard lush growing hosta and blooming annuals and perennials.

New feeding damage may occur on newly introduced plants after the last repellent treatment and on fresh growth/blossoms since the prior application. If there is any damage between applications, a free maintenance visit will be provided if you have the full deer repellent program.

Keep Deer Away to Prevent the Spread of Ticks and Disease

While it is crucial to prevent deer from eating your plants, you may wish to keep them off your property altogether to minimize the spread of deer ticks. Deer transfer the deer tick, which spreads Lyme disease, as they migrate. During the main tick breeding seasons in spring and fall, the Scientific Plant Service staff may fog your property and wood lines where deer pass to keep them away. These keep deer off your property and ticks away from your household and pets.
